Amret Commits to Continue Voluntary Blood Donation Mission To Save 2,000 Lives in 2026

Kampot, Wednesday morning, October 1, 2025, Amret Microfinance Institution collaborated with the National Blood Center to organize the “Voluntary Blood Donation, Give Blood, Give Life 13th” program under the chairmanship of Madam Muy Wirat, Deputy Governor of Kampot Provincial Government, Dr. Sok Po, Director of the National Blood Center, and Ms. Lim Sopha, Director of the Amret Executive Unit, as well as the participation of the Director of Provincial Administration, the Directors of the Department of Health and the Provincial Red Cross Branch, as well as approximately 200 voluntary blood donors.
The program was organized to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation among the public as well as Amret employees and as part of the Ministry of Health’s contribution to instilling awareness and creating a habit of regular blood donation to help save lives. As of October 2025, Amret employees have donated 1,413 units of blood to the National Blood Center to help meet the blood needs for emergency care and patient treatment.
Ms. Lim Sopha, Director of Amret’s Executive Unit, spoke at the “Voluntary Blood Donation, Give Blood, Give Life” program about the blood donation that Amret has been promoting and supporting, with Amret committed to continuing its mission of volunteering 2,000 units of blood to save lives in 2026.
Dr. Sok Po, Director of the National Blood Center, also gave recommendations to encourage blood donation activities, as blood donation is a good social act for the national society and a gift to those who are in danger of death, equitably making a national society with good manners, virtues, and culture. This is the right response to the words: “Youth and girls for the cause of the nation and the homeland.”
Opening the program, Madam Muy Wirat, Deputy Governor of Kampot Provincial Government, also said, “Voluntary blood donation is a manifestation of humanity and love for the nation. In Buddhism, blood donation is interpreted as a highly meritorious act and a contribution to saving human lives. Madam called on all citizens, civil servants, institutions, and organizations to donate blood in large numbers to be prepared for any emergency in the cause of humanity and patriotism.
The “Voluntary Blood Donation, Give Blood, Give Life 13th” program was conducted smoothly and had significant positive results.
